Roofing your house is not the most exciting project when you are remodeling or building. We know that most people don’t think about the materials they have to use. There are many types of roofing material that you can choose, and today, we are going to look at 6 of them.

  1. Rolled Roofing

Rolled roofing consists of long rolls of minerals impregnated with asphalt and topped with granulated minerals. Usually, the rolls come in 100 feet square of roofing and about 3 feet wide. This material is commonly used in utilitarian structures, shop stores, outbuildings, and sheds.

  1.  Build-Up Roofing (BUR)

A build-up roofing system is constructed with many layers of roofing impregnated with asphalt that will create a thick, durable, and impenetrable roof.

  1. Membrane Roofing

Another option for a flat roof is membrane roofing that can be found in several types, like neoprene (polychloroprene), EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer), PVC (polyvinyl chloride), chlorinated polyethylene and chlorosulfonated, polyethylene sheets, and polymer-modified bitumens.

  1. Asphalt Composite Shingles

This is the most popular material used in roofing in North America. Asphalt Composite Shingles are made from a fiberglass base topped with asphalt and mineral granules. Usually, this one comes with a warranty of 20-30 years. If one of the pieces is damaged, it can be easily replaced, and most of the companies do this type of roofing service.

  1. Standing Seam Metal Roofing

Standing seam metal roofing is the most popular metal roofing, especially in regions that snow a lot, because they are fully fireproof. It is called this way because the aluminium or steel meet in raised seams that interlock to keep the moisture out.

  1. Metal Shingles/Shakes
