ZL Capital said it’s begun construction on a nine-story, 51-unit residential project in Long Island City.
The New York City developer said it broke ground Wednesday on the Project Athena LIC condo project at 27-20 42nd Road. Construction on the project, which will include four retail spaces, is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2023, ZL Capital said. The company bought the Hunter’s Point industrial building last year for $15.5 million from taxi-meter manufacturer Pulsar Technology Systems.
“Project Athena LIC’s mission is to provide its residents with an unmatched quality of life. Athena LIC is where luxury meets comfort, fully meeting quality-of-life expectations,” said ZL Capital founder Yu Liu, in a statement.
ZL Capital is also involved in building the following projects, according to the company’s website: the mixed-use, 162,000-square-foot Project Parsons Building in Flushing; the 11,000-square-foot mixed-use Project 38th Avenue building in Flushing; and recently completed the 10-story, 31,000-square-foot mixed-use Lexus LIC building with 32 residential units at 41-14 27th Street in Long Island City.
